Social Media & Marketing Volunteer

We are looking for a social media & marketing volunteer to help promote the Festival to a wider audience. This is a volunteer position, taking up 1-2 hours per week of your time (from home). In return you will get to see some exciting and unusual events, benefit from training by industry experts, and complete excellent experience for your CV.

Brighton Early Music Festival (BREMF) is an established part of the cultural community of Brighton & Hove, and puts on events each October featuring music from the medieval, renaissance, baroque and early classical periods. BREMF aims to curate events which are welcoming for all and make early music accessible to as wide an audience as possible.

Role specification

In this role you will:

  • Help Brighton Early Music Festival with marketing tasks, with a particular focus on social media
  • Get involved with creating content including videos, reels, planning posts, and helping the Festival shape its social media strategy
  • Be valued! This is a flexible role which can grow and change to suit your interests and the skills you have or would like to learn. You might be looking for a position for a time-limited period (eg. until the summer, during the summer or in the early autumn), or for something more long-term.

Essential criteria

  • A keen interest in music (not necessarily early music)
  • Experience in using social media including Instagram
  • Over 18 – possibly still studying or on a gap year, or recently graduated and looking to gain experience in this area

Desirable criteria

  • Experience using video editing software
